Headblock!

Sunday, June 24th, 2007

As I have said in my previous post my plans for the website and learning how to create one is coming along as well as to be expected. However, at the same time I am looking for other opportunities but once again I am confused and need to do my research.

I have seen so many earn money online programs and products that it’s hard to know where to even start. You never know which ones are vaguely legitimate because you can never be completely reliant on those who use testimonials to promote their financial success. Another problem is that there are people who make money using these programs, but they have taken the time to research and understand how these programs work and how to promote properly, something that will takes months or even years to master.

Having said all that I have already learned so much more about website promotion than I ever thought possible. It’s just a case of being willing to learn. I have accepted that to get rich it will take a hell of a lot of time and learning. In the end, the more research you do the less money you will tip down the drain and the less money scams I will fall for.

As far as the paid surveys go they are coming in thick and fast. One particular site Ciao stopped sending me surveys for a while and I was getting worried as they are one of my favourite paid survey sites. They have since sent 3 paid surveys ranging from £0.65 to £1.50. I didn’t qualify for one of them, but was credited with £0.10 none the less. I have also received loads of paid surveys from companies that have been relatively inactive since I joined, so I am making more and more from these survey sites.

Website going good.

The website I am learning to build at the moment is going good. It’s amazing how quickly you pick things up when you start from the beginning. In the past I had just looked at the section where I wanted my website to be and had taken it from there. Not surprisingly the effects I wanted to achieve did not work and I had wasted by time.

Another skill I need to master is the administration side of things. I am a rubbish administrator when it comes to things like this. I have the folders and everything, but I have no idea how to organise it. I guess I will have to buy a book on that as well.

Yes, that heading is very philosophical I know, but it’s true; and I have ignored it until now. I am reading all these advice pages on how to promote Clickbank products, sell ebooks etc and not really having a clue about what they are talking about.

On the face of it the concept of Clickbank etc seems simple, until you are told by a number of affiliates that in order to make a decent living from it you need to really have your own ‘landing page’, and also, if you are selling items through them then you will also need a ‘thank you page’. How the hell do you do that when my knowledge of building websites is about as good as my knowledge of rocket science?

Answer, build your own website from the ground up, learn the basics and take the knowledge you have learnt with you when you build those ‘landing pages’. Its going to take a long time to earn a living from this method; but I have been taking the easy way out for so long now and it is just not working. I have got my little book of HTML, my computer, the internet and my little overloaded brain and a little bit of patience to get started on the project. It will eventually pay off, and it will give me time to save up for items (such as adobe photoshop) and hosting that I will need in those final steps of my journey. Wish me luck and I will keep you updated.

Whoa! Slow Down.

I think that one of the reasons for me not doing very well on these money making schemes is I get bored easily. I expect to make some money almost straight away and it never seems to happen, so I get fed up and go searching for my next project. I also think I am too careful with my money in the first place.

There are plenty of money making schemes out there that that really are not legitimate. I am alway hesitant to throw my money at them. But there is information out there that is free, but required you to spend a little time and money getting things right. They do say that it won’t make great riches overnight and that there is time and effort involved; i just don’t seem to take any notice of it.

The plan for the moment is to take my time and get some simple web pages (I need to learn some HTML first), buy bulk website  hosting (my current hosting service is GREAT and AFFORDABLE) and just take it easy.

I already have a small income from taking online paid surveys, and I have also starting getting money from paid emails. So all is not lost. I just need to take my time.
